History:

GRANADA, a city in sections 20, 29, 30, and 31 of Center Creek Township, bears the name of a renowned medieval Moorish city and kingdom in Spain. It was founded in 1888 and incorporated as a village on May 11, 1895; it was originally called Handy with a post office of that name, 1888-91, Albert H. Reynolds, postmaster, named in honor of Abner S. and Sally M. Handy, who had settled in section 31 of the township in 1859; it was platted in 1890 by Ed Anderson, and the name changed in 1891, with Reynolds continuing as postmaster under the new name; it had a station of the Minneapolis, St. Paul and Sault Ste. Marie Railroad (Soo Line).

Donohue construction was started by Ryan Donohue in 2008.   I started in the building industry framing new homes for a few years for custom home builders in the twin cities right after I finished my building class at century college.    I moved to southern MN in 2005 and worked for a couple of local builders until 2008 when I started my own company.   I now live in Granada with my wife and three children.   I have been working hard for the past 6 years to deliver the best service and quality to all of southern MN including Fairmont, Blue Earth, Mankato and all other surrounding communities.    I would welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and deliver you the best service in the industry.

The premise of this website is really simple; true health comes from nutrition and that nutrition always starts from the soil and works its way up the food chain. The complexity of “healthcare” so often overlooks the simple solution right under our feet in favor of patented (and lucrative) “non-solutions.”

Granada Getaway is a beautiful building that once was a Congregational Church whose members became too few to keep it going. In November 2007 it was sold to Deb & Kevin Kelly, owners of southern Minnesota's largest Scrapbooking Store, Picture This! Scrap That! in Fairmont. It has since been gutted and renovated to hold 14 people for a fun retreat. This facility is ideal for many different events. Scrapbooking, Quilting, Church or Family Retreats and Business Meetings are just a few. The tables/areas can be arranged to suit your occasion. The sleeping quarters can be closed off if you are looking to rent only the Studio/ Meeting Areas along with the kitchen.
