Annual Bluegrass Masters Music Weekend at Lutsen Resort, in cooperation with the North Shore Music Association. Workshops, jam sessions, and entertainment by skilled bluegrass musicians.

Everybody likes a little thrill every now and then, and the Alpine Slide is ready to oblige. Getting there is half the fun with a leisurely chairlift ride to the summit of Lutsen's Eagle Mountain. Then hop on your sled and cruise down an exhilarating half mile of twisting, turning track back to the base.

Discover the headwaters of the Poplar River as the early fur traders once did in a 10-passenger Voyageur canoe. Deer, otters and waterfowl are commonly sighted, with moose, bear and timber wolves seen occasionally. A great family adventure!

Come to Cascade for the rushing river and grand waterfalls that lay within a gorge, lush with moss and ferns that grow on black volcanic rocks. Hike the trail through birch, spruce and white cedar; stop to see the views of Lake Superior, the largest freshwater lake in the world. Trails connect with the Superior Hiking Trail and the North Shore State Trail and offer great recreational opportunities to hikers and cross-country skiers.

In the heart of the Sawtooth Mountains on Lake Superior's North Shore this ski & summer resort offers downhill & cross country skiing, hiking, and various summer activities. Four interconnected mountains and 92 runs make Lutsen the largest ski complex in mid-America.

Trails of various skill levels for cross-country classic & skate skiing & ski-jouring. Connector trails between the Sugarbush System near Tofte to the Oberg Mtn System. Large system in the Deer Yard-Cascade River area near Lutsen & Cascade River State Park. Trails run through forest, open clear-cut areas & valleys, offering vistas of the Sawtooth Mountains and Lake Superior.

This famed trail travels the distance of Minnesota’s North Shore from Duluth to the Canadian border with the section traversing Lutsen Mountains as one of the most dramatic segments. Mountaintop vistas, deep cedar forests, maple ridgelines and Poplar River Falls are all part of this spectacular, rugged trail.

The Superior National Forest was established on February 13, 1909 by President Theodore Roosevelt. One of the largest Forests in the national forest system, the Superior boasts a unique and rich legacy that has been largely influenced by its boreal forest ecosystem and glacially-carved landscape with myriad inter-connected waterways.

Public course (par 72) 27 holes. Golf Digest 2007 rated 4 1/2 stars on "Best Places to Play". 20 of the 27 holes have vistas of Lake Superior. Audubon International recognizes Superior National as have been certified as an "Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary"
