Milroy is a city in Redwood County, Minnesota located along Minnesota Highway 68. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.26 square miles (0.67 km2), all of it land. The elevation is 1,109 ft (338 m) above sea level.

As of the census of 2010, there were 252 people, 114 households, and 66 families residing in the city. The population density was 969.2 inhabitants per square mile (374.2/km2). There were 127 housing units at an average density of 488.5 per square mile (188.6/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 98.4% White, 1.2% Asian, and 0.4% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.8% of the population.

There were 114 households of which 24.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.0% were married couples living together, 0.9% had a female householder with no husband present, 7.0% had a male householder with no wife present, and 42.1% were non-families. 36.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.21 and the average family size was 2.92.

The median age in the city was 37 years. 23.4% of residents were under the age of 18; 9.1% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 28.4% were from 25 to 44; 26.9% were from 45 to 64; and 11.9% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the city was 51.2% male and 48.8% female.

MILROY, a city in sections 16 and 17 of Westline, next west of Lucan, platted in March 1902 and incorporated on November 18 of the same year, "was named for Major General Robert H. Milroy, a gallant Union soldier during the early days of the war of the rebellion" (Stennett, Place Names of the Chicago and Northwestern Railways, 1908, p. 102). He was born near Salem, Ind., June 11, 1816; was graduated at Norwich University, Vt., 1843; served in the Mexican War and in the Civil War; was superintendent and agent for Indian affairs in Washington Territory, 1872-85; and died in Olympia, Wash., March 29, 1890.

The post office opened in 1902, with Jerry A. Looney as postmaster; when platted by the Western Town Lot Company, the townsite covered a large tract of land in sections 16-20; lots were sold on auction on April 9, 1902; a petition presented on February 7, 1905, reduced the townsite size to 160 acres in sections 16 and 17. A well-known business, the Milroy Eating House, built in 1898 in Vesta, was moved to a site near the Chicago and North Western Railway tracks in 1902.
