Alpha is a city in Jackson County, Minnesota. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.17 square miles (0.44 km2), all land. The elevation is 1,388 ft (423 m). County Roads 29 and 34 are main highway in the city, Interstate 90 is nearby.

As of the census of 2020, there were 97 people, 79 households, and 38 families residing in the city. The population density was 570.59 inhabitants per square mile. There were 59 housing units at an average density of 347.1per square mile. The racial makeup of the city was 96.9% White, 1.0% Asian, 0% black or African American, 1.0% from other races, and 1.0% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.0% of the population.

There were 48 households of which xx% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 43.8% were married couples living together, 4.2% had a female householder with no husband present, 4.2% had a male householder with no wife present, and 47.9% were non-families. 47.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 12.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.47 and the average family size was 2.75.

The median age in the city was 60.2 years. 15.5% of residents were under the age of 18; xx% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 28.3% were from 25 to 44; 25.8% were from 45 to 64; and 29.9% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the city was 52.6% male and 47.4% female.

The median household income was $135.638 The poverty rate was 1.8%. 54.5% of residents had a bachelors degree or higher. The median rent was $870 and 91.1% owned their homes. The average value of a housing unit was $61,757.

ALPHA, a city in Wisconsin Township, sections 11-14, platted in 1895 and incorporated July 3, 1899, bears the name of our letter A in the Greek alphabet, which word is formed from the first and second Greek letters. It is also the name of villages in Maryland, Indiana, Illinois, and other states. The post office was established in 1895; it had a station of the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad in section 13.
