Goodhue County is a county located in the U.S. state of Minnesota. As of 2000, the population was 44,127. Its county seat is Red Wing. Nearly all of Prairie Island Indian Community is within the county. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 780 square miles (2,021 km²), of which 758 square miles (1,964 km²) is land and 22 square miles (57 km²) (2.84%) is water.
