Lac qui Parle County is a county located in the U.S. state of Minnesota. As of 2000, the population was 8,067. Its county seat is Madison. The name of the county is French for "lake that speaks".
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 778 square miles (2,015 kmē), of which 765 square miles (1,981 kmē) is land and 13 square miles (34 kmē) (1.70%) is water. The county's northern boundary is defined by the Minnesota River; two of its tributaries, the Lac qui Parle River and the Yellow Bank River, also flow through the county.
