Montgomery proudly celebrates its Czechoslovakian heritage and culture with Kolacky Days - one of Minnesota's oldest festivals. From authentic Kroj costumes, Czech dancers, classic car show, antique tractors to a Grand Day Parade, music and fun galore, there’s something for everyone at Kolacky Days. The festival is celebrated the fourth full weekend in July.

Throughout the Kolacky Capital, you will be greeted by friendly merchants eager to provide you with your everyday goods and services. A number of specialty shops offer item of unique interest to visitors and residents alike.

The Czech Mardi Gras" -
The name may sound crazy - mus-O-pust - but its tradition is rich. "Carnival" or "Mardi Gras" is celebrated in many parts of the world. The Czech version is called Masopust, which literally means "good-bye to meat." This fun evening includes music, dancing, costume ball, authentic Czech skit, silent auction and more.

Everyone comes home for Montgomery's proud claim to fame: Kolacky Days. The celebration is named after the fruit-filled Czech bun. This is one of the oldest, largest, and greatest community celebrations in Minnesota: the first Kolacky Day was held in 1929 as a harvest festival. Thousands of people are drawn to Montgomery each year for this Czechoslovakian festival. Treat yourself to assorted foods; listen to live modern and ethnic music.
