Guide to Murdock Minnesota

Murdock is a city in Swift County, Minnesota. U.S. Route 12 serves as a main route in the community. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.56 square miles (1.45 km²). The elevation is 1,089 ft (332 m) above sea level.

MURDOCK, a city in Dublin, was platted and named by Samuel Sabin Murdock in 1878, was incorporated on January 28, 1881, and was reincorporated on December 31, 1898. Murdock, former manager of St. Paul Harvester Works, owned 3,000 acres in the area; he was born in Vermont in 1830, was Minnesota railway commissioner in 1894, and retired to Phoenix, Ariz., where he died in 1900. The post office was established in 1878, with general store owner, George Botham, postmaster; it had a station of the Great Northern Railway in section 11.
