Nielsville is a city in Polk County, Minnesota. US Highway 75 serves as the main route in the community. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.36 square miles (0.93 km2), all of it land. The elevation is 866 ft (264 m) above sea level.

As of the census of 2010, there were 90 people, 42 households, and 19 families residing in the city. The population density was 250.0 inhabitants per square mile (96.5/km2). There were 56 housing units at an average density of 155.6 per square mile (60.1/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 93.3% White, 5.6% from other races, and 1.1% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 23.3% of the population.
There were 42 households of which 23.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 35.7% were married couples living together, 4.8% had a female householder with no husband present, 4.8% had a male householder with no wife present, and 54.8% were non-families. 52.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 19.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.14 and the average family size was 3.32.
The median age in the city was 46 years. 23.3% of residents were under the age of 18; 9% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 12.2% were from 25 to 44; 43.4% were from 45 to 64; and 12.2% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the city was 46.7% male and 53.3% female.

NIELSVILLE, a city in sections 19, 20, 29, and 30 of Hubbard, incorporated as a village on May 7, 1920, was named for Nels C. Paulsrud, who first settled in the area in 1872 about one and a half miles northwest of the present site. Paulsrud came from Norway in 1869, his name originally being Nils Olson; he provided mail service at his home, which was called Old Nielsville after the post office of Nielsville began at the present location in 1883. The village had a station of the Great Northern Railway.
