Moen", which means little hill in the pinewoods in Swedish. One of the first settlers in the Talmoon area was
J.F. Sundloff, an immigrant who took one of the first homesteads on
the shore of Little Turtle Lake. The Sundloff's cabin was a well-known
stopping place for travelers throughout the area, and later became
Allen's Resort. a popular small resort in the 1920s. The post office in Talmoon was first known as
"Mack", then changed to "Hayslip's Corner" in
1938. When Mr. Hayslip sold his business and moved to California in
1939, the post office became "Talmoon".

Three
Cedars Resort is a family resort vacation destination located on
the east shore of Jessie Lake, one of the top walleye lakes in
Itasca County. The resort is located 37 miles northwest of
Grand Rapids, Minn., and approximately 4 hours from
Minneapolis/St. Paul.
The resort's eight cabins are nestled in 16
acres of pristine northwoods at the heart of the Chippewa
National Forest. You are invited to experience the Northwood's
finest year-round hospitality this year when you plan your
Minnesota resort vacation at Three Cedars Resort.
We are Tiffany and Dennis Reibel, the owners
of Three Cedars. We purchased the resort in August 2000
and have completely renovated the five existing cabins and built
three new cabins and a lodge since then. Now, in addition to the great lake views,
sunsets, woods, wildlife and fishing opportunities that have
made this resort an annual favorite; we've added a
significant step forward to the resort's good looks and comfort. Each cabin at Three Cedars has been
individually decorated; and we've gone to great lengths to
ensure your comfort and relaxation. So pick up the phone
and give us a call. Reserve your next vacation at Three
Cedars Resort. |
