A number of resorts and campgrounds welcome visitors each year. Mille Lacs lake is known as one of the best walleye fishing lakes in the state of Minnesota and is perfect for sailing, water skiing and all kinds of other water activities. The Soo line recreational trail runs through the heart of Isle offering hiking/biking, ATV and snowmobile recreation.

In addition, the city has completed construction on new restrooms at our "Isle Lake View Park" located on the shores of Mille Lacs Lake. The park is open to the public and has picnic tables, a band shelter, swimming beach and fishing pier, all over looking spectacular Isle Bay.

At 132,500 acres, Mille Lacs is Minnesota's second-largest inland lake.  Its maximum depth is 42 feet, while much of the main lake falls into the 20 to 38 foot depth ranges. The northern half contains most of the lake's mud flats and the southern half of the lake has more gravel and rock bars. All sides of the lake offer some shallow reef-top fishing. Deep-water angling takes place on the southern deep gravel and rocks as well as on dozens of mud flats in the north half of the lake.

The museum exhibits Isle's 1895 and 1901 schools. The 1895 building features a Pioneer School Room, General Store, and Postal displays. The 1901 school exhibits feature Boats and Boat Builders of Mille Lacs, Pioneer Life, and area industries. A tourist information center is also on site. Open May - September.

Father Hennepin State Park is located on the southeast shore of Mille Lacs Lake. Visitors enjoy a large sandy beach for swimming, two boat accesses, fishing piers and picnic sites with a panoramic view of the lake. The park's 320 acres include two campgrounds and hiking trails that wind through a hardwood forest and along the rocky shoreline of Mille Lacs.

Fiddlestix is a challenging par 71 18 hole course of 6200 yards. Established in 1987, Fiddlestix is a mature and neatly manicured course in a natural setting of oak, maple and pine trees.

The Soo Line Trail is a dual trail with a paved section for bicycles and a rock bed for ATVs.  The bicycle portion runs from Isle to Onamia, (about 12 miles) and connects with roads to bring you to Kathio State Park.  The ATV portion runs from Genola, Minnesota to Superior, Wisconsin.  Many riders enjoy the trails at Red Top, just a few miles away.
