The 1900 County Courthouse in Park Rapids was saved from demolition in 1977 and now houses the Hubbard County Historical Museum. The museum features Civil War relics, a late 19th-century schoolroom and office, and exhibits depicting the history of Park Rapids. The art museum has a collection of European paintings that range from the 15th to 19th C.

The North Country Museum of Art (name changed to Nemeth Art Center in 2011) was founded in 1977 by a group of Park Rapids Minnesota Community members. For 40 years, the NAC has provided quality arts experiences to North Central Minnesota. Located in the upstairs of the Historic Hubbard County Courthouse, the NAC is home to the Gabor and Edith Nemeth Study Collection. This collection includes 42 European paintings some of which date back to the 16th Century. In addition to a permanent collection, the Art Center curates seasonal exhibits of contemporary art.
