Geography:
Amiret is an unincorporated community in
Amiret township, Lyon County, Minnesota. County Roads 2 and 9 are the main routes in
the community. According to the United States Census Bureau, the
township has a total area of 36.3 square miles (94 km2), all of it land.
The elevation is 1,273 feet.

Demographics:
As of the
census of 2020, there were 205 people,
83 households, and 57 families residing
in the township. The population density
was 5.65 people per square mile. There were 92 housing units
at an average density of 0.25 per sq mile.
The racial makeup of the city was 94.6%
White, 0.0% African American, 0.0%
Native American, 1.5% Asian, 1.0% from
other races, and 2.9% from two or more
races. Hispanic or Latino of any race
were 2.4% of the population.
There were
x households out of which 27.4% had
children under the age of 18 living with
them, 71.1% were married couples living
together, and 20.5% were non-families.
18.0% of all households were made up of
individuals and 44.6% had someone living
alone who was 65 years of age or older.
The average household size was 2.47 and
the average family size was 2.60.
The median age in the township was
x years. 21.5% of
residents were under the age of 18; 7.3% were between the
ages of 18 and 24; 16.1% were from 25 to 44; 28.8% were
from 45 to 64; and 26.3% were 65 years of age or older.
The gender makeup of the city was 46.8% male and 53.2%
female.
The median household income was $91,250. The poverty
rate was x%. 38.0% of residents had a bachelors
degree or higher. The median rent was $825 and 89.2% owned
their homes. The average value of a housing unit was
$191,700.
History:
Amiret was originally called Saratoga,
after Saratoga, New York, and under the latter name was platted in 1874.
The present name, adopted in 1879, is for Amiretta Sykes, the wife of a
railroad official. The town's post office first opened under the name
Coburg in 1873. The name of the post office was changed to Amiret in
1878, and remained in operation until 1992.

Madison Township, and under the latter name was organized in 1874. The
