Chippewa County is a county located in the U.S. state of Minnesota. As of 2000, the population was 13,088. Its county seat is Montevideo.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 588 square miles (1,522 km²), of which 583 square miles (1,509 km²) is land and 5 square miles (13 km²) (0.85%) is water.
