Freeborn County is a county located in the U.S. state of Minnesota. As of 2000, the population was 32,584. Its county seat is Albert Lea.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 723 square miles (1,872 kmē), of which 708 square miles (1,833 kmē) is land and 15 square miles (39 kmē) (2.07%) is water. The Le Sueur River, a tributary of the Minnesota River, starts in the northern part of the county.
